Why We Need Your Help

Multiple studies have shown the unique challenges of military deployments for children and families. The separation and changes at home, coupled with the stress and ongoing worry for their deployed family member can greatly affect a child’s well being.

Since 2001, military families have experienced a dramatic increase in multiple deployments.  Military children and families face unique challenges with each deployment, and studies have shown the stress of military life increases exponentially with each additional deployment.

The Deployment Kit

Developed in partnership with the USO, the With You All the Way deployment kit features resources designed to address the special needs of children who have a deployed family member. The kit includes:

• the DVD, With You All the Way! Dealing With Deployment—an animated movie that provides children with information and advice during a family member’s pre-deployment, deployment, and reintegration
• an interactive journal with activities and writing prompts
• kid-friendly postcards that can be mailed to a deployed enlisted person
• a set of keepsake dog-tags
• a stuffed animal named Cuzzie™
